Types of toys
Age 1-3
Toddlers in this age range love sorting and building so things like simple puzzles and building blocks are very popular. This is the age when children begin to imitate the adult in their lives as well so things that are miniature versions of things like phones or kitchens are really great to help developing imaginations. Also, things like board books, dolls, dollhouses and simple musical instruments are a big hit around now.
Age 3-5
It's all about roleplay and getting messy at this age so anything that they can use to dress up is great around now. Paints, colouring, playdough and all sorts of art and craft materials are great fun in this age range. Lego and Duplo sets tend to be a big hit now also.
Age 5-7
This is the age that interests tend to vary from child to child, some might love books, some might love dolls or science. Most kids at this age really love electronic and techy toys. Board games and strategy games are great now also.
I also want to say a little bit about gender within toys for children. It's easy to assume that cars are for boys and dolls are for girls but this couldn't be further from the truth. When thinking about buying toys for your little ones let them decide what they find fun. If you have a little girl who is obsessed with dinosaurs or a little boy who loves his dolls house, know that that is completely normal and nurture it because it is so important to let them decide who they are and want to be.
Toys For Age 1 - 3

This townhouse by Lego can be rebuilt three different ways and is pretty substantial as it measures over 14" tall and 15" wide. It comes complete with 5 figures and many accessories including opening windows, doors and fridge. This fantastic little camera is such a great toy to encourage creativity in your 3-year-old. It is a 5-megapixel camera and the touch screen on the back can be used for editing photos and videos and adding cool effects and stickers. It has a front-facing and a selfie lens and most importantly is super durable in case of falls or drops. We love this in our house. Robust build with a rubber shell on the outside so it is definitely toddler friendly. Has a small internal storage built-in which stores about 200 photos. Toys For Age 3 - 5
This super adorable balloon dog isn't really a balloon, he's actually a really smart and cute robotic pet. He loves cuddles, he can be trained by squeaking his ball, he can be fed delicious air and you can even pop him and pump him back up. He has over 60 different interactions and they are all very cute and funny. The instructions which come with this really clearly laid out how to create each interaction with squeakee. So handy. He will be universally loved by both your children and you, I promise you he is so sweet.

This is a really popular toy at the moment, you have probably seen this little guy everywhere lately. He is a Flamingo called Sherbet who eats his food when you feed him with the scoop. He will then sing you the uh oh gotta go song which is hilarious. If you then pop him on the toilet he will go in the water. It has a record and playback feature where you can record your own phrases, you can have some real fun with this. (I'm thinking poop noises lol). The food can be reused again and again.
