Baking Mr Kipling Unicorn Cake With Willow

I wanted to try and bake and cook a bit more with Willow over the summer because she loves it and it's great for her to pick out something she wants to make and see it through. We popped out to Morrisons a few days ago and I let her pick anything she fancied to bake. She was imediately drawn to this Mr Kipling unicorn cake mix so we picked it up to give it a go. We are going to bake more things from scratch too but thought this was a nice easy way to start.

All we had to do was add some oil, three eggs and some milk. As you can see when the mix went into the bowl it was white but then when we added the wet ingredients Willow loves to see it change colour to bright pink. We then split the cake mix into 2 tins.

The best part of baking cake is of course licking the spoon (or beaters in this case).

Then once it was all baked and cooled we, very messily iced it. The struggle of trying to get the icing on the cake and not in Willow's mouth is very real. Then she decided that it needed rainbow sprinkles on top. Or course.

The cake turned out quite nice. It is so sweet though with the frosting on. Willow was not complaining but I had to make sure she only got a small slice or she would be running around like a mad thing. We are going to be baking bread next which willow has never done before and I hope you will join us for that.
Thank you for reading.
